MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT ISRAEL

MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT ISRAEL

Don't Believe Everything You Hear On The News.

People are people and therefore inheritantly biased -no matter their occupation.

The devil hates the Jewish people with a passion. The Jews are the ones who gave mankind the Bible and the Savior, Jesus Christ. It should come as no surprise that nations who are demonically controlled would share in the devil's hatred of Israel. I've listed a number of popular myths about Israel, and I've also provided facts to counter those lies.

I strongly recommend this slideshow also which illustrates the situation extremely well: http://www.terrorismawareness.org/what-really-happened/

The Historical Perspective.

The following is but a sample. For a more comprehansive list of myths and facts go
here.

MYTH:
"The land of Israel is really the land of Palestine."

FACT:
The term "Palestine" is derived from the Philistines, an Aegean (Greek) people who, in the 12th Century BC, settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what is now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century AD, after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word Filastin is derived from Latin. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.

Furthermore, The Arabs invented the term after the fact. The so-called Palestinians lived mostly in Jordan and Syria. Yasser Arafat, the late leader of the so-called “Palestinians", was actually an Egyptian!

MYTH:
"The Jews have no historic claim to Israel."

FACT:
Only one group of people have continuously lived in Israel for the past 3,700 years - the Jews. Jerusalem, in particular, has had a Jewish majority since the 1840s, 40 years prior to the beginnings of Zionism. Seventy-five percent of the land in east Jerusalem, which the press calls "historically Arab east Jerusalem," has been owned by Jews since 1947. The nations that inhabited the land prior to the Jews are no longer in existence, for they have been absorbed into various other peoples throughout the millennia. The Arabs of Israel only came to the land in 632 with the Muslim invasion.

MYTH:
"The creation of the state of Israel in 1948 changed political and border arrangements between independent states that had existed for centuries."

FACT:
The boundaries of most Middle East countries were arbitrarily fixed by the Western powers after Turkey was defeated in World War I and the French and British mandates were set up. The areas allotted to Israel under the UN Partition Plan had all been under the control of the Ottomans, who had ruled Palestine from 1517 until 1917. When Turkey was defeated in World War I, the French took over the area now known as Lebanon and Syria. The British assumed control of Palestine and Iraq. In 1926, the borders were redrawn and Lebanon was separated from Syria. Britain installed the Emir Faisal, who had been deposed by the French in Syria, as ruler of the new kingdom of Iraq. In 1922, the British created the emirate of Transjordan, which incorporated all of Palestine east of the Jordan River. This was done so that the Emir Abdullah, whose family had been defeated in tribal warfare in the Arabian peninsula, would have a kingdom to rule. None of the countries that border Israel became independent until this century. Many other Arab nations became independent after Israel.

MYTH:
"Israel violates the human rights of the Palestinian Arabs."

FACT:
The facts are different. Israel granted full citizenship to all of the Palestinian Arabs who fell within its borders after the War of Independence. Arabic is an official language in Israel. Israel remains to this day one of the few countries in the Middle East where Arabs can legitimately vote--and it is the only one where women can vote.

MYTH:
"The West Bank is part of Jordan."

FACT:
The West Bank was never legally part of Jordan. Under the UN's 1947 Partition Plan--which the Jews accepted and the Arabs rejected--it was to have been part of an independent Arab state in western Palestine. But the Jordanian army invaded and occupied it during the 1948 war. In 1950, Jordan annexed the West Bank. Only two governments--Great Britain and Pakistan--formally recognized the Jordanian takeover. The rest of the world, including the United States, never did. During the 1950-1967 period of its occupation, Jordan permitted terrorists to launch raids into Israel. Amman lost the West Bank after the Jordanian army entered the 1967 war.

MYTH:
"Jerusalem is Islam's third most holy city."

FACT:
Muslims try to connect Jerusalem to Islam by using a vague passage in the Koran, the seventeenth Sura, entitled "The Night Journey." It relates that in a dream or a vision, Mohammed was carried by night "from the sacred temple to the temple that is most remote, whose precinct we have blessed, that we might show him our signs. ..." In the seventh century, some Muslims identified the two temples mentioned in this verse as being in Mecca and Jerusalem. And that's as close as Islam's connection with Jerusalem gets--myth, fantasy, wishful thinking. Meanwhile, Jews can trace their roots in Jerusalem back to the days of Abraham.

MYTH:
"The Temple Mount has always been a Muslim holy place and Judaism has no connection to the site."

FACT:
The area of Solomon's Stables is believed to date as far back as the construction of Solomon's Temple. According to Josephus, it was in existence and was used as a place of refuge by the Jews at the time of the conquest of Jerusalem by Titus in the year 70 A.D. More authoritatively, the Koran--the holy book of Islam--describes Solomon's construction of the First Temple (34:13) and recounts the destruction of the First and Second Temples (17:7). The Jewish connection to the Temple Mount dates back more than 3,000 years and is rooted in tradition and history. When Abraham bound his son, Isaac, upon an altar as a sacrifice to God, he did so atop Mount Moriah, today's Temple Mount.

MYTH:
"Under Israeli rule, religious freedom has been curbed in Jerusalem."

FACT:
After the 1967 war, Israel abolished all the discriminatory laws promulgated by Jordan and adopted its own tough standard for safeguarding access to religious shrines. "Whoever does anything that is likely to violate the freedom of access of the members of the various religions to the places sacred to them," Israeli law stipulates, "is liable to imprisonment for a term of five years." Israel also entrusted administration of the holy places to their respective religious authorities. Thus, for example, the Muslim Waqf has responsibility for the mosques on the Temple Mount.

MYTH:
"The Arab states have had to keep pace with an Israeli-led arms race."

FACT:
In most cases, the reverse has been true. Egypt received the Soviet IL-28 bomber in 1955. It was not until 1958 that France provided Israel with a squadron of comparable Sud Vautour twin-jet, tactical bombers. In 1957, Egypt obtained MiG-17 fighter planes. Israel received the comparable Super Mystere in 1959. Egypt had submarines in 1957, Israel in 1959. After the Egyptians obtained the MiG-21, the Israelis ordered the Dassault Mirage III supersonic interceptor and fighter-bomber. Egypt received ground-to-air missiles--the SA-2--two years before Israel obtained HAWK missiles from the United States. Later, Washington reluctantly agreed to sell Israel Patton tanks.

MYTH:
"Israel's destruction of Iraqi nuclear facilities was an unjust act."

FACT:
Back in June 1981, after the Israelis bombed the plant at Osirak, the UN Security Council unanimously condemned Israel. Washington ostentatiously held up its delivery of armaments to Israel. A decade later, however, the strike looks awfully good. Had Saddam Hussein been armed with nuclear weapons during the war with Iran, much of Tehran would now be obliterated and large sections of Iran annexed to Iraq. More: Iraqi forces might have rolled straight from Kuwait into Saudi Arabia, long before American forces could have arrived. Today, Saddam could already control five oil-rich countries and thereby over half of the world's oil reserves. Economic disaster would be one result; and American troops would have no good place to land.

MYTH:
"Israel has been an expansionist state since its creation."

FACT:
Israel's boundaries were determined by the United Nations when it adopted the partition resolution in 1947. In a series of defensive wars, Israel captured additional territory. On numerous occasions, Israel has withdrawn from these areas. As part of the 1974 disengagement agreement, Israel returned territories captured in the 1967 and 1973 wars to Syria. Under the terms of the 1979, Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty, Israel withdrew from the Sinai peninsula for the third time. It had already withdrawn from large parts of the desert area it captured in its War of Independence. After capturing the entire Sinai in the 1956 Suez conflict, Israel relinquished the peninsula to Egypt a year later. In September 1983, Israel withdrew from large areas of Lebanon to positions south of the Awali River. In 1985, it completed its withdrawal from Lebanon, except for a narrow security zone just north of the Israeli border. That too was abandoned, unilaterally, in 2000. After signing peace agreements with the Palestinians and a treaty with Jordan, Israel agreed to withdraw from most of the territory in the West Bank captured from Jordan in 1967. A small area was returned to Jordan and the rest was ceded to the Palestinian Authority. The agreement with the Palestinians also involved Israel's withdrawal, in 1994, from most of the Gaza Strip, which had been captured from Egypt in 1973.

MYTH:
"Israel is the aggressor in the current conflict."

FACTS:
One: The Palestinians are the aggressors; they started the conflict, and they purposely drive it forward with fresh killing on an almost-daily basis.
Two: The Palestinians regard this second intifada not as a sporadically violent protest movement, but as a war, with the clear strategic aim of forcing a scared and emotionally exhausted Israel to surrender on terms that would threaten Israel's viability.

Three: As a tactic in this strategy, the Palestinians will not fight Israeli forces directly but instead have concentrated their efforts on murdering Israeli civilians. The greater the number, the more pathetically vulnerable the victims--disco-goers, women and children in a pizza restaurant--the better.

Four: Israel has acted defensively in this conflict; and while Israeli forces accidentally killed Palestinian civilians, their planned lethal attacks have all been aimed only at Palestinian military and terror-group leaders.

31th October 2009
Saturday

Study week for my 7th semester in USM… well I have 1 more week with no exam, while the rest of USM students will go for the battle in examinations arena. (Usually in Dewan Peperiksaan A B C or D in near Padang PALAPES.

Today, I woke up at around 10am… saw David studying… hehehe I was tired... I went back to my short sleep, woke up at 11 check my Facebook, handphone and my yahoo messenger without bothering the Holy Spirit. The spirit in me always reminded me of many important things to do but my heart seem to be enchanted with worldly stuff like Facebook and all that stuffs…

So I went to lunch with David… I have sms’ed max yama tim rem but only Max responded… huhu anyhow, we have decided to go for the great and yummy Wan Tan Mee in Shuang Xing… so me and david passed Fajar Harapan and I shouted “MaX!... Max!” then came a hensom boy at the window… heheh si max… so we waited for him and then we walk together la… he told me that they (tim and joe) stayed at padang PALAPES until 6am… fuhhh! So I guess this morning Tim woke up late… huhu tak sempat lunch…

.
So walked… and walked… but sadly we noticed that Shuang Xing was close… huhu T.T! so we head to Bali-Bali la… huhuhu (its ok Shuang Xing… we serang you other time la hehehe)
.
So when we reached bali2… then suddenly I noticed there is a lady who has been in my mind for so many times and she is very familiar to me… heheeh gosh ITS FLORA!!! Alaaa Flora Lomboting!!! Heheheh not expecting her to be in Penang… and in Bali-bali!!! Gosh… I thought She was in Sabah back then… cuz she has graduated from USM… I heard that she worked in UMS… tp jumpa pula..
.

She told us so much about her experience working in her own restaurant in tamparuli with her brother in law… (should call as brother in grace hgehehhe)
.
Her stories wassss so funny and full with typical sabahan accents.. hAhAh cerita kena kacau orang mabuk… berkawan baik dengan orang pilak and om hehehe lawak!
.
Lepas tu balik campus…
.
Sambung facebooking and YMing… lupa study… tym tuh sgttttttttt la boring… facebook facebook facebook… then tiba2 entah… sy piker mcm mau pigi church… hmmm Malam ni ada SNL… so I told pitung… hehehhe then… sampai 4pm sy sambugn kerja wajib… iaitu tidorrrr til 6.30…
.
Ujan…. Mcm kedagingan ini mengatakan jangan pigi church… adoiii dah la ujan… lapar lagik huhu but ada The Spirit in me terus kuat dan terus kuat… fuhh TIDAK! Sy mesti pigi church… I know something is going to happen! Yeah…sy kol rem… tapi dia katakana dia nda mau pigi church… huhu sedih juga… then suddenly…fon rang! Wa???? Jess call… yey… Jesus has sent her with car to fetch meeeeeeeee hehehe PRAISE THE LORD (angelic laugh to the Devils) hAhaHa
.
Then we reached church!! Wow…. I was so happy… great!!!
.
I shook everyone’s hand… HAhahahah was full of the Joy from the Holy Spirit… everyone was like smiling back and some make funny face expressions… heheheh maybe because they didn’t were not use or malu tu salam-salam… hehehe (where in BM service… if you don’t salam people means you are different hehehhehe) wow… the church’s atmosphere is so wonderful… I was so excited… with what blessings did Daddy has stored for me… goshhh the lighting pun best… gelep2 lagi… aduii sgt nda sabar mau praise and worship Dia…
.
So we sat at the most comfortable seats… the Nicky and Kenny start the praise and worship… fuhhhh They Invited everyone to go to the from and just have a great free worship accompanied by The Holy Spirit… wow… after all the praise songs… then we went back to our respective seats… then nicky and Wilson take charge of the pengumuman… then after that we offer our offerings... then go into His presence in Worship spirit… fuhhh so great! And I missed the moment so much… worship was so intimate and really ministered by His presence… sooo awesome!
.
Then Pastor May take over the service and continue with Holy Communion… wow Jesus Blood cleansed everybody… cleansed every sins! So that we have the righteousness and the holiness to partake His blood and His body in the from of Grape juice and also bread. Hallelujah!

After that great worship, then pastor may came to give some introduction on pastor Thillak from Sri Langka… He has shared from 2Samuel 2 :14- 16..

2:12 And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.
2:13 And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
2:14 And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise.

He gave some testimonies on how the people in sri langka has receive Jesus and experience so much miracles… fuhhh can you imagin… people with heart failure were healed… diabetes healed… and the most awesome one is people with tooth decay… gigi tumbuh semula menjadi gigi COLGATE! Wahhhhhhhhhh dasyat Tuhan Yesus… hehehhee in only 8 months about 200 people come to know Jesus… Hallelujah! Wow… everyone in the church was astonished and overwhelmed by what God has done in Sri Lanka… fuhhh mantap man!!!! Napa la di Penang jarang mcm tuh??? Sy mau experience oooo Tuhan YEsussss hantar revival in MalAYSIA!!!! We are so thirsty and hungry for you love…

Lastly pastor Thillak encouragement is that… We ; children of The KING must go to the enemy’s camp / territory and save the lost souls and bring them back to Jerusalem. His Children must bring impact to the people’s lives…

But the best surprise that Jesus has kept for us is that He has sent His son all the way from sri lanka… PASTOR MITCHELL aka Mitch! To be His tongue tonight! Pastor Mitch has said that “God is going to do great things in Penang… God wants to bring rEVOLution to Penang in spiritual realms. He will revolutionize Penang… and the young Generations must be always be ready.

Pstor mitch also said
“When we receive Jesus Christ… we has received salvation as a gift… and the moment we receive it… it is the beginning of a great JOURNEY!
.
When we come to church we come to exalt Jesus Christ… why!? Because we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

Pst Mitch also mentioned about the difference about RELIGION and RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Chirst!
If we see Christianity as a religion… we are like slavery, keep on doing the same thing over and over again. NO TRANFORMATIONS of live!

But! If we have relationship with Jesus Christ…
We do everything out of LOVE…
We are making a call to Jesus everytime!
We will always live concern about Jesus Christ
We will do anything because We are in love!

The He moved to boundaries and addictions… that has slaved Children of God… Pastor mitch said
- we must make CHOICE!
- Black is Black, and White is White… no such thing as GRAY in Jesus Christ!
MAKE A CHOICE now… Decide to have changes and transformations in life and choose to Glorify, exalt and lift Jesus Christ!

“NO MORE COMPROMISING Facebook, pornography, masturbations, etcs etcs…”

Then he moved to The topic of the The Father Love…
Jesus said : “I do everything what I see my father do”
Many times, the real biological father that we had in this world has distorted our perspective of our Heavenly Father! That is why it is very hard for people to get intimate in Praise and Worship!

We have to break every curse!! In Jesus name! and forgive and forget about any wrongs that our earthly father has done to us…

Then we come to the presence of prayer… wow The Holy Spirit began to touch every single person in the room. Praise The Lord… altar call was great! God delivered me from my addictions and my sins… The devil gave back the joy, the happiness, the blessings that he has stolen from me… Hallelujah!!! Jesus you are the best!!!!... wow… so greatttttttttt… Jesus is great!!!! Hallelujah!!!! That night I was restored… I was feeling victorious… wow thank you Jesus….
When the service ends, I go and thank pastor mitch, pastor Thillak, pastor may… and my cool pastor… pastor Steve… yeah great!!!!

I am so glad that I have chosen to listen to the Holy Spirit when He told me to go for the service tonight… Thanks Holy Spirit!!!! You are great!... then on the way out from epcc…. I shook everyone’s hand again… heheheh now they were so full of joy… hallelujah!
.

After that, me and jess went to makan at pelita… wow great food also… heheheh kenyang… and Holy Spirit leads us into moments of sharing… we have shared so many things. Wow… so relief la… then we go to baskin robins… hAhAhAHhahHAhaHa
.
Then finally back to bakti! Heheheh thanks you Jesus… I hAVE DECLARED that starting 1st NOVEMBER I will fast until one week is over on facebook! Yeahhhhh I cannot do this Jesus… but YOU CAN! Amen!!!!! Bye bye facebook!
.

Before I end this… I just want to thank you Jesus for your awesome job in me… you has been my bestest friend… and also my greatest GOD! Hallelujah! Segala kemuliaan, pujian dan hormat, I lifted up for yoU! All this I surrender in Jesus Name AMEN!

Love for money is the root of all evil???

yeah.. it says so in... wait ah... mana sudah tuh...

yeah... in...

I Timotius 6
6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

well... to be honest with you guys... i had a rough time these couples of weeks because I spent all of my loan d... huhu T.T! yeah... my bad... I've been praying that God will deliver me from this sickness in me... which is --> lack of financial management!!! huhuhu
.
last two weeks, Dad sent me Rm100... and gosh... I tried so hard to keep that money alive but suddenly I have to pay for the assignment printing la... karate grading la... this and that activities la... hmmm jadi makan pun tinggal sikit la... Maggie dan biskut la teman sejati saya selama zaman darurat ini...

anyway... yesterday.. i totally finished every cents that I have... got no body to tell but Jesus... and that morning... i called up Emily (Bukan nama sebenar) to go out eat together and share to 'her' about what had hapenned to me... huhu... Emily was a great listener... she paid for my food.. hehehhe thanks!!! and teman me to go for a hair cut at brothers barber!!! rm6....

iii - hp kena curi = rm300 (atleast la... huhu)
iv - Vision trip - rm50
v - TESOL dinner - RM45
.....

warghhhhhhhhh kenapa la hidup sy nih terikat sangat dengan Hukum2 di dunia nih... hmmm kan bagus kalau sy sudah kembali ke pangkuan Bapa... tiada yang perlu dirisaukan...

anyway, I mesage my dad this morning about sending some pocket money... jeng jeng jeng...

.. sy kena marah! ... T.T!!!

saya terus tiada mood mau kuar makan dengan kawan2 di Bali2... huhu memang sudah dijanjikan untuk datang... tp last minute tarik diri... sebab hati sy tidak senang... jiwa tidak tenteram... roh sy tiada sukacita...

banyak juga kawan2 mencari... hmm tp ckp sy banyak kerja... tp sebenarnya... hmmmm itu la... bukan melarikan diri... cuma I need my self alone... in this hard and tough situation... just too seek His face... and listen to whats He is about to say about my situations... fuhhh siap nangis2 di bilik nih... hAHHAhaha sandi behhhh
.
Then Yama ada YM sy tanya napa tak join makan tengah hari ... tapi sy tidak ckp sy busy buat kerja... but i instantly share to him about my recent struggle life... wow...

this is what he said... so powerful... my spirit was lifted high...

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh THANKS YAMA!!! (bersyukur ada Yama tempat meluah hAHaHh)
.

Then che2 Hui Ping call sy... tiba2 ja nih... then she came to my hostel to give me something yang sy doakan... wow!!! God is always on time... FirmanNya tidak pernah pergi dengan sia-sia

Lukas 12:24
Perhatikanlah burung-burung gagak yang tidak menabur dan tidak menuai dan tidak mempunyai gudang atau lumbung, namun demikian diberi makan oleh Allah. Betapa jauhnya kamu melebihi burung-burung itu!

hahahha so my needs was fulfilled... its was not the money that makes me feel better... it was Jesus all along... His kindness that leads me to repentence in my life... His favour draws me to His side... and most importantly... His grace cause me to be more like Him...
each day... each miracles.... each tribulations... and each trials...

so yeah... I felt better since then... I wet my eyes agian when i reached my room... HAhah david pun tertanya2 kenapa la sy mcm tuh... Hola guys ...
just want to make this really2 quick (*rush to karate
practise... arghhh )

OK just wanna update some of the significance events that has happened this week...

1st!
(1 August 2009 1600hrs)
My Holy Baptism...

** I have waited for this since 2006, where for the first time in my 19 years of my life... I received Jesus Christ in my life...
Then, only in August 2009 that I really understand why I should really get Baptized... encouraged by Pastor Hui Ping.. I go for the baptism class...
On Saturday, Pastor Sam and Pastor Bernard prayed and baptized me in St Nicholas' swimming pool... so so so so significant....

The process was very touching and overwhelming for me... It's like a flashback of my life
my defeated, unsecured, condemned life...
The journey of finding the Truth and the 'Superman' of my life....
and the beautiful plan that Jesus Christ has restored for my future
(*That's include my future wife.... XD)

Throughout the process of Baptism, I really felt the presence of the Holy Spirit...

Having Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior is the greatest experience in my life... He promised me peace, joy and hope in every walks of my life...
and the greatest gift is to have the eternal life with heavenly Father...
through His cross... grace and mercy fall...

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
